This salad combines fruit & vegetable mixed with vinegar – olive oil & balsamic vinegar are used here. Balsamic is a type of vinegar which has brown black colour, smell really good and light sour. Because of the sweetness from watermelons and the sourness from cherry tomato, the salad has these both tastes as somebody may not find this dish as delicious as expected as they have not get used to the taste. However, like many other Vietnamese Recipes Vegetarian, are good for your health and suitable for a hot summer day.
Ingredients: (for 2 – 3 people)
1/8 red watermelon
10 cherry tomatoes
2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1/8 teaspoon of dried basil
A little bit of salt (adjust according to your taste)
Some sprouts
Skewers or toothpicks
Processes:
Step 1: Cut the watermelon to small square pieces like this below picture (around 20 pieces), leave the seeds out.
Step 2: Wash the cherry tomatoes, cut in half.
Step 3: Put the cut cherry tomatoes above the watermelon pieces, use the skewers or toothpicks to stick them together. Sprinkle some salt on those skewers.
Step 4: Mix the balsamic vinegar with the olive oil.
Step 5: Pour the mixture on the skewers.
Step 6: This is the finishing touch to one of our Vietnamese Recipes Vegetarian. Sprinkle the dried basil on the skewers, then put the sprouts on the skewers and it is ready to serve.
