Ingredients:
5 – 6 bananas (Asian type which you can see in the pictures below)
1 tablespoon of sliced coconut meat
80g of sugar
150g of flour
250ml of water
An aluminium mould in which its diameter is 15cm; or you can use a ceramic bowl.
Process:
Step 1: Peel off the banana’s skin. You should choose ripe bananas.
Step 2: Boil water, add the bananas in and blanch it quickly. Then, take them out and put on the plates.
Step 3: Slice the bananas in which its thickness is around 0.8cm.
Step 4: Add water, flour and sugar in and stir it. Cook with medium heat, continue to stir until the mixture is warm then turn off the heat. By doing that, the mixture of flour will not sink to the bottom.
Step 5: Rub cooking oil all over the mould or ceramic bowl, put half of the bananas in, then pour the mixture in step 4 on the surface, pour about ½ of the mould.
Step 6: Sprinkle the sliced coconut meat on the surface. Put the shape into the steamer, cook with high heat, and seal the lid. Steam until the flour above is cooked, continue to put the remaining bananas and flour mixture in. Steam till the cake is cooked. Remember, if you want to create one of stunning Vietnamese Dessert Recipes like this dish, I suggest sometime you should open the lid and use towel to clean water on face of lid.
Step 7: After the cake is cooked, take it out of the steamer, let it cool off and put into the fridge in 1 -2 hours.

This is a lovely recipe! I'm very excited about trying this immediately - I have a few ripe bananas that I would love to use to make this beautiful steamed banana cake. Could you please tell me what flour you used - plain, self raising, rice . . . ?
Hi Miss Food Fairy, Sorry for this late reply. The flour i used is called Tapioca Flour. Because you can see, after we bring them to steam, it becomes more clear, right? :). Good luck for your cooking .
